Terms and Conditions
An important legal notice
The information and guidance provided on this page are general in nature and intended to help you draft your own Terms and Conditions document. Please do not consider this article to be legal advice or a recommendation on the specific course of action you should take, as we cannot predict the specific terms you wish to establish between your store and your customers. We recommend seeking legal counsel to understand and assist in the creation of your own Terms and Conditions.
Terms and Conditions – the basics
With that said, Terms and Conditions (“T&C”) are a set of legally binding terms defined by you, the owner of this online store. The T&C establish the legal boundaries governing the activities of site visitors or customers as they browse or interact with the store. The T&C aim to define the legal relationship between visitors and you, the store owner.
What to include in the T&C document
In general, the T&Cs address the following types of issues: who is authorized to use the store; available payment methods; a statement that the store owner may change their offerings in the future; the types of warranties the owner offers customers; references to intellectual property or copyright issues, where relevant; the owner's right to suspend or cancel a member's account; and much more.
